about Keira

Keira is an Australian writer, living in Sydney’s northern suburbs.

It was at the age of eight that Keira decided she wanted to be a writer (which was #3 on her "what do I want to
be when I grow up" list, significantly trailing behind princess and Goonie).

Keira has been writing for ten years and is the author of eight children’s books (the Halycrus series) published in Australia, the United States, Canada, Singapore and the UK. She has been twice nominated for an Aurealis Award (Children's Long Fiction 2007).

In 2006, Keira travelled the world for fourteen months where she underwent finger surgery in the Peruvian Amazon, got kopecks thrown at her for no apparent reason and never succumbed to food poisoning (although her travel partner did twice).

A constant thrill seeker, Keira likes to eat copious amounts of chilli and go to boxing classes.

She is currently penning her next children’s book, an adventure quest uncovering historical myths and legends.

Keira is also a freelance writer for websites, feature articles and magazine editorials. Contact Keira for any media and agent enquiries.
